Effective: August 13, 2026
Lociform is built so that your data never leaves your device. The app makes no network requests at all.
Lociform keeps your palaces, the route through them, the things you are memorising, the mnemonic scenes it writes for you, your review history, and any photo you import, in the app's own storage on your device. That information stays there. It is not sent anywhere, and it is not visible to us or to anyone else.
You can build a palace from a photo. Lociform uses the system photo picker, so it never asks for access to your photo library and never sees any photo other than the one you specifically choose. The photo you pick is copied into the app's own storage and stays on the device.
When you import a photo, Lociform estimates its depth so it can render the scene with parallax. That runs entirely on your device using a bundled model. The photo is not uploaded for processing.
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Lociform may ask the system's on-device language model to phrase a mnemonic sentence. That also runs on your device. Your text is not sent to Apple, to us, or to any third-party AI service. On devices without Apple Intelligence — or if you have it switched off — Lociform uses its own built-in library instead, and every feature continues to work.
Lociform can read your mnemonic scenes aloud during a Memory Walk. Speech is synthesised on the device by iOS. Nothing is recorded, and nothing is transmitted.
Unlimited Palaces is an optional one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple. Purchase management and payment information are handled by the App Store; Lociform never sees your payment details. Lociform checks your purchase entitlement with Apple's StoreKit on the device.
Your regular device backup may include Lociform's data, handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Lociform itself writes nothing to iCloud.
Lociform does not collect data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
