The short version: no account, no tracking, and nothing leaves your device unless you use one of three specific features. Those three are described in full below.
Your home record — room scans, equipment, model and serial numbers, photographs, documents, maintenance history, shutoff locations, and notes — is stored on your device. There is no account to create and no sign-in.
iCloud sync is built into Homelore but is not enabled in the current release, so your records stay on the device by default. If a future version turns it on, syncing happens through your own private iCloud account, which Apple operates and we cannot read.
Homelore is otherwise offline. Three optional features send data to a single service we
operate at homelore-enrich.jcreates.workers.dev, and only at the moment you use them.
Nothing runs in the background.
When you ask Homelore to identify a piece of equipment, it sends the brand, model, and serial number read from the label. The result is cached on the service, keyed by brand and model, so the same appliance does not have to be looked up twice. The cache holds equipment details, not anything that identifies you or your home.
When you ask a question about your home, Homelore sends your question and a summary of your home record so the answer can refer to your actual equipment. The question and summary are processed to generate a reply and are not stored: the request is marked no-store and nothing is written to the service's database.
The emergency section can look up local information from a ZIP code you type in yourself. That ZIP code is sent and the result is cached by ZIP. Homelore never reads your location: it contains no location services, and the ZIP is only ever the one you enter.
If you do not use these three features, Homelore sends nothing anywhere.
Homelore does not request location, health, or contacts access.
If Homelore offers optional in-app purchases, they are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. Purchase management and payment information are handled by the App Store; Homelore never sees your payment details. Entitlements are checked on-device via Apple's StoreKit. When you export your home record or share a document, the file goes only where you send it. Homelore adds no hidden metadata beyond what you see in the export.
Homelore has no accounts and does not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
