GhostLoop Daily Privacy Policy

GhostLoop Daily is a daily arcade game. This policy covers the GhostLoop Daily iOS app and nothing else. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

There is no server of ours, no analytics tool, and no advertising partner. There is no account to create and no email address to give us. The only data that ever leaves your device is the replay of a run you chose to play, and only when it beats your own previous best for that day.

What leaves your device

• A replay of your run — a two to three kilobyte list of which direction you turned and on which game tick, plus your score and the cosmetic items you had equipped. It uploads only when you beat your own best score for the day, and only if you are signed in to Game Center. This is how other players face your run as a “ghost”; it is the core idea of the game.
• Your Game Center display name, alongside the replay, so your ghost has a name on their screen.
• A one-line elimination record when you cross another player's ghost, holding the eliminator's display name and a pseudonymous code for the ghost's owner, so that player's app can tell them their ghost was slain overnight.

These records are stored in Apple's CloudKit public database, inside the game's own container. They are identified by a salted, truncated, one-way hash of your Game Center player identifier. The identifier itself is never stored, and the hash cannot be turned back into an account. Uploaded runs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

What never leaves your device

Your streak, your Glow balance, your unlocked cosmetics, your settings, your attempt history, and every run that was not a personal best stay in the app's own folder on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What is never collected

No name, no email address, no phone number, no location, no contacts, no photos, no advertising identifier, and no usage analytics of any kind. The app contains no third-party SDKs.

Purchases

GhostLoop Daily offers optional cosmetic in-app purchases, including the Phantom Pass weekly subscription. They change how the game looks and never how it plays. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. The app asks Apple which items you own and stores the answer locally so your cosmetics appear correctly.

Notifications

Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. There is no server to send a push message from. Every notification type can be switched off individually in the app's Settings.

Your choices

• Play without signing in to Game Center and nothing at all is uploaded.
• Turn on Airplane Mode and the game is fully playable.
• Use Settings → Erase local data to remove everything stored on the device.
• Email us to have your uploaded runs removed; they are deleted automatically after 14 days in any case.

Children's privacy

GhostLoop Daily contains no messaging, no chat, no user-written text, and no way for one player to send anything to another. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, the app will say so before the change takes effect, and the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
